- Practical requirements and setup
Prerequisite skills:
You are expected to have basic IT skills and to be familiar with MS Office applications, particularly Excel, or another spreadsheet application.
Requirements:
In order to successfully complete this course you should ensure the following:
1. You must have sole use of a computer and internet connection, for the duration of the training programme.
2. QGIS desktop software downloaded and installed
This should be organised in advance of the training, as the application installer is a large file (approx. 1GB); once installed you should ensure it is functioning correctly. To download and install QGIS follow the guidance document below:
3. GRID3 training data, downloaded and saved locally:
- Download all data required for this programme as a single ZIP file from here: GRID3 training data downloads
- When the zip file has downloaded, extract the files and save the folder G3_GIS_Training directly to your 'C:/' drive; the file path should therefore read C:\G3_GIS_Training
- The file path to your data should therefore read C:\G3_GIS_Training
- Your Training Certificate
Once you have gone through all of the course materials and completed the required assessments, you will be eligible for your certificate. It will be emailed to you, but you can also download it from the link below.
If you cannot click or even see the link below, then you may not be logged in or enrolled correctly. Alternatively, you may have things still to complete.
- Firstly, check that you are logged in and enrolled correctly on this programme
- Now check the course list above, and ensure you are enrolled on all required courses
