Capacity strengthening is an important pillar of GRID3 work; we aim to make crucial geo-referenced data available and useful for decision makers. GRID3 commits to strengthening countries’ capacity to produce and use those data by providing technical assistance as well as training, and by developing country-specific partnerships that bring government, science, and civil society together.

We offer tailored technical assistance and training programmes on the use and application of GRID3 and related spatial data. This Learning Hub is the primary mechanism for delivering GRID3 training. Our training spans a range of topics in geospatial data and technologies, and reflects our core themes on human settlement, demographics and characteristics, health, education and infrastructure. Geographic Information Systems (GIS) are covered extensively; both their practical use and application.

See the Training Catalog for more information.

What do I need to enroll and participate?

All students must be registered with the Learning Hub in order to enroll. They will need a computer and a working internet connection. The predominant software used during the training is QGIS. This is a free and open source software available for download on the qgis.org website.

Will I receive a certificate upon completion?

We award certificates for the successful completion of selected programmes and courses. See the Training Catalog for more information.
